My 20-years of painting, mostly oil on canvas, is founded in engineering, not fine arts. The path to picking up a brush was learning geometry and graphing in school, doing system diagrams at work, lots of doodling in too long corporate meetings, and finally entering a store for a blank canvas. That was followed by years of study, observation and practice. Having a non-zero amount of autism, a common thing in engineering, my work shows the world through that lens.Â
The work is typically strictly composed and emotionally close to neutral and can be austere. I try to give the things I paint an aura of thoughtfulness. I hope that this calm speaks through the paintings.
Commissions welcomed.
